let ABC be a traiangle having sides,

AB=5cm

BC=4cm

AC=3cm

since hypotenuse is the longest side,

AB>BC>AC

now,

according to pythagorous theorem,

AB^2=AC^2+BC^2

5^2=3^2+4^2

25=9+16

25=25

LHS=RHS

NOTE: it does not apply in any triangle, it is only applicable in right-angle triangle.
