Answer:

THE CORRECT ANSWER IS 12 OR 21.

Step-by-step explanation:

let the numbers be x and y

as per condition actual no is 10x+y

on reversing the digits the no is 10y+x

x = y+1

or y = x+1

its the same so for consideration i am taking x = y+1

as per question:-

(10x+y)*(10y+x) = 252

[10*(y+1)+y]*[10y+y+1] = 252

[10y+10+y]*[11y+1] = 252

(11y+10)*(11y+1) =252

121y²+110y+11y+10 = 252

121y²+121y-242 = 0

121(y²+y-2) = 0

y²+y-2 = 0

using the mid-term factorisation

y²+2y-y-2 = 0

y(y+2)-1(y+2) = 0

(Y-1)(y+2) = 0

y = 1  or y = -2

since this is a number so y cannot be -2

so y = 1

NOW USING Y = 1

X = Y+1 = 1+1 = 2

THE NUMBER IS 2*10+1 =20+61 = 21

              OR

1*10+2 = 10+2 = 12
