Answer:

The Number is 35.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let one -

  • Unit digit of the two digit number be (8 - x)
  • Tens digit is 10(x)

According to the question,

If 18 is added to it it is reversed

⇒ 10x + (8 − x) + 18 = 10(8 − x) + x

⇒ 10x + 8 − x + 18 = 80 − 10x + x

⇒ 9x + 26 = 80 − 26

⇒ 18x = 54

⇒ x = 18/54

⇒ x = 3

The digit in tens place is 3

The number -

⇒ 10(3) + (8 - 3)

⇒ 30 + 5

⇒ 35

Therefore, the Number is 35.

GiveN :-

  • x + y = 8 (x and y are the digits of the 2-digit number)
  • If 18 is added to the required number, then the number gets reversed.

TO FinD :-

The original number.

SolutioN :-

Let the number be 10x + y.

It is given that x + y = 8

⇒x = 8 - y                 ...(i)

A/q,

10x + y + 18 = 10y + x

⇒9x - 9y = -18

⇒9(x - y) = -18

⇒8 - y - y = -18/9          ...[from (i)]

⇒8 - 2y = -2

⇒8 + 2 = 2y

⇒2y = 10

⇒y = 5

Now,

x = 8 - y

⇒x = 8 - 5

⇒x = 3

The original number = 10x + y

= 10(3) + 5

= 35

∴ Therefore, the Number is 35.
