the digits of the numbers be x and y
then the number=10x+y
then the sum of digits
x+y=6........ (1)
and
10x+y-(10y+x)=18.......... (2)
10x+y-10y-x=18
9x-9y=18
from (1)
x=6-y
9 (6-y)-9y=18
54-9y-9y=18
-18y=18-54
-18y=-36
y=-36/-18
=2
then
x=6-2=4
then the number is 42
