Given,

Final Velocity = 16 m/s

Distance = 39 m

Time = 3s

=> a = v-u/t [ Let, u = 0 here]

=> a = 16-0/3

=> a = 5.333 m/s^2

Again,

=> S = ut+ 1/2 at^2

=> 39 = u x 3 + 1/2 x 5.333 x 3 x 3

=> 39 = 3u + 24

=> 39 - 24 = 3u

=> 3u = 15

=> u = 15/3

=> u = 5 m/s

So the Initial Velocity = 5 m/s

Verification :-

=> S = ut+ 1/2 at^2

=> 39 = 5 x 3 + 1/2 x 5.333 x 3 x 3

=> 39 = 15 + 24

=> 39 m = 39 m

=> L.H.S = R.H.S
