Solution :-

Let in the mixture milk is 5x litre and water is x litre .

24 litre of mixture was taken out .

so, in 24 litre :-

  • Milk taken out = 24 * (5/6) = 20 litre .
  • water taken out = 4 Litre .

then,

→ Milk left in mixture = (5x - 20) litre

→ water left in mixture = (x - 4) litre

now, 24 litre of milk is added and ratio becomes 13 : 2 .

A/q,

→ (5x - 20 + 24) / (x - 4) = 13/2

→ 10x + 8 = 13x - 52

→ 13x - 10x = 52 + 8

→ 3x = 60

→ x = 20 .

therefore,

→ Milk in the mixture = 5x = 5 * 20 = 100 litre

→ water in the mixture = x = 20 litre .

now, in 15 litre of mixture taken out,

→ Milk taken out = 15 * (5/6) = 12.5 litre .

hence,

→ Milk left in the mixture = 100 - (20 + 12.5) = 100 - 32.5 = 67.5 litre (Ans.)
