Number of men participants = 18 (Given)

Find the number of female participants:

Female participants = 54 - 18 = 36

Find the total number of men in the village:

3/8 of the men = 18

1/8 of the men = 18 ÷ 3 = 6

8/8 of the men = 6 x 8 = 48

Find the number of women in the village:

1/3 of the women = 36

3/3 of the women = 3 x 36 = 108

Find the total population in the village:

Total population = 48 + 108 = 156
