In a village of South India people started cultivating crops all around a
lake. They added fertiliser to their field in order to enhance the yield.
Soon after it was discovered that the water body was completely covered
with green floating plants and the aquatic animals started dying in large
numbers.
Analyse the situation and state reasons for the excessive growth of plants
and death of aquatic animals in the lake. which chapter question is this​

the excessive growth of plants or basically algal Bloom and death of aquatic animals is mainly because of eutrophication.in eutrophication due to the added phosphates and nitrates which are in excessive quantity in fertilizers , promote the growth of the algae and other plants on the surface of the water bodies which obstructs the penetrationof the heat ,light and oxygen into the deeper levels of the water bodies and also consume all the oxygen dissolved in the water body so in turn leading to the death of the aquatic animals which are present in the water body.
