STEP 1: Find the decrease in males:

Males = 2440 (Given)

10% X 2440 =244

Males after decreased = 2440 - 244 = 2196

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STEP 2: Find the increase in females:

Females = 3560

5% x 3560 = 0.05 x 3560 = 178

Females after increased = 3560 + 178 = 3738

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STEP 4: Find population change:

Before : 2440 + 3560 = 6000

After: 2196 + 3738 = 5934

6000 - 5934 = 66

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STEP 5: Find percentage change:

Percentage change = 66/6000 x 100 = 1.1%

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Answer: The population decreased by 1.1%
