Let the no. of literate person be x, no. of graduates be y and the population be z
now we have
total population = 11250
no. of graduates = 2
y : x = x : z
2 : x = x : 11250
2/x = x/11250
( cross multiplication)
2 × 11250 = x × x
22500 = x²
√22500 = x
150 = x
so the no. of literate person is 150
now we have
total population = 11250
no. of graduates = 2
y : x = x : z
2 : x = x : 11250
2/x = x/11250
( cross multiplication)
2 × 11250 = x × x
22500 = x²
√22500 = x
150 = x
so the no. of literate person is 150
