In a voltmeter there are 20 division between 0 mark and 0.5 v mark. Calculate the least count of the voltmeter .

There are 20 divisions are given between 0 mark to 0.5v mark .
we know,
Least count of a instrument is the smallest value that can be measured by the given instrument .
e.g., Least count = gap between two marks { range}/number of divisions
= (0.5 - 0)v/20 = 0.5/20 = 0.025v

Hence, least count of the voltmeter is 0.025v

If a voltmeter has 20 divisions between 0 mark and 0.5 V mark, then its

Least count = Minimum measure of unit between two marks / Number of divisions

= 0.5/20

= 0.025 V or 25 mV
