The correct answer is 25 men, 165 women and 810 children.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • x represents the number of men who attended the wedding, y represents the number of women and z represents children.

  • So we conclude that,  x + y + z = 1000. This is our first equation.

  • While, 4x + 3y + z/2 = 1000. This is the second equation.

  • We multiply (2) by "2" and get a third equation such as 8x + 6y + z = 2000.

  • Now solving the first and third equation. 7x + 5y = 1000, 5y = 1000 - 7x, y = (1000 - 7x)/5

  • Now, we use integers to infer the values of x and y i.e 25 & 165.

  • Replacing the value in first equation 25 + 165 + z = 1000. We get the value of z 810.

  • Now that x = 50 and y = 130. We replace these values in the first equation and get z = 820.

  • On the other hand, x = 100 and y = 60. We replace these values in the first equation and get the value of z as 840.
