\huge{\mathfrak{Question:-}}

In a zero order reaction, 20% of the reaction completes in 10 sec. How much time it will take to complete 50% of the reaction?

\huge{\mathfrak{Solution:-}}

\sf{For\;zero\;reaction,\;x=kt}

\sf{Where,}

\sf{x=decrease\;in\;concentration\;of\;reactant\;(mol\;dm^{-3})}

\sf{k=rate\;constant\;(mol\;dm^{-3}\;sec^{-1})}

\sf{t=time\;(sec)}

\sf{Also,for\;50\%\;completion\;of\;reaction,\;i.e.\;Half\;life\;of\;reaction,\;t_{\frac{1}{2}}=\frac{a}{2k}}

\sf{Where,}

\sf{a=initial\;concentration\;of\;reactant.}

\sf{Let\;a=100\;mol\;dm^{-3}\;and\;after\;20\%\;completion\;of\;reaction,\;x=20\;mol\;dm^{-3}.\;Now,}

\sf{k=\frac{20\;mol\;dm^{-3}}{10\;sec}}

\sf{k=2\;mol\;dm^{-3}\;sec^{-1}}

\sf{t_{\frac{1}{2}}=\frac{100\;mol\;dm^{-3}}{2\times 2\;mol\;dm^{-3}\;sec^{-1}}}

\boxed{\sf{t_{\frac{1}{2}}=25\;sec.}}

according to the maths,(chapter percentage) it would be answer like this

=20%in 10 sec

=so 10% in 5 sec

=and 50%

=5×5

=25 sec answer is this
