In a zoo the ratio of lion : tiger is 5:6

Let the number of lions be 5 x and tigers be 6 x

We can write this as 5 x : 6 x

Two lions join in the zoo !

Now the ratio would become :

                                          ==> 5 x + 2 : 6 x

Given in the question the ratio becomes 9:10

                                            ==> 5 x + 2 : 6 x = 9 : 10

                                           ==> 10 ( 5 x + 2 ) = 9 × 6 x

                                           ==> 50 x + 20 = 54 x

                                           ==> 4 x = 20

                                           ==> x = 20/4

                                           ==> x = 5

The number of lions = 5 x

                                  ==> 5 × 5 = 25

The number of tigers = 6 x

                                   ==> 6 × 5 = 30

ANSWER

\bf{Lions\:=\:}\boxed{25}

\bf{Tigers\:=\:}\boxed{30}

Hope it helps ya :)
