Find the number of female Bengal white tigers in the zoo for given data

Explanation:

  • let the set of Bengal white tigers be denoted by 'W' n(W)=6, set of Bengal royal tiger be denoted by 'R'  n(R)=7
  • set of male white tigers , male royal tigers and total males be  M_w, \ M_r\ and\ M respectively then we have,                                                        [tex]n(M)=5\\ n(M\cup R)=10 \\ ->n(M\cup R)=n(M)+n(R)-n(M\cap R)\\ ->n(M\cap R)=5+7-10=2[/tex]
  • hence, the male royal tigers are n(M_r)=n(M\cap R)=2
  • hence, we have                                                                                              [tex]n(M)=n(M_r)+n(M_w)\\ n(M_w)=5-2=3[/tex]
  • hence the number of female Bengal white tigers are                                                                           [tex]n(F_w)=n(W)-n(M_w)\\ n(F_w)=6-3\\ n(F_w)=3[/tex]         ---------ANSWER
