so,

using Pythagoras (AB) ^2. = (AD) +( BD)

(13) ^2 = (12) ^2+ (BD)^2

169 = 144 + (BD)^2

169 - 144 = (BD)^2

25= (BD)^2

BD =√25

BD= 5

BD = DC

5cm =5cm

BC =10 cm
