  • Now If we place 6 atoms and make a layer A, then it will create three depressions.
  • Now three atoms will b placed in these depressions to make a second layer i.e. B
  • In this layer only one atome can be adjusted, because three atoms will create one depression.
  • Thus in ABAB if an atom is placed in layer A then 6 atoms will touch its adjacent B layers​.
