In △APQ and △ABC,

∠A is common.

∠APQ=∠ABC ...[corresponding angles]

∠AQP=∠ACB ...[corresponding angles]

∴△APQ∼△ABC ...(By AAA)

So, once the triangles are similar, their corresponding sides would be proportional.
