we know that /_B =/_C(angle opp. to equal sides are equal)
Now, in triangle ABD and ADC,
ad=ad ( common )
/_B=/_C (proved above)
and ab = ac(given)
hence, triangle ABD congrent ADC(by SAS rule)
ad is perpendicular to bc (cpct)
hence proved.
