In ∆ABC, ABC = 90 ,AD = 10cm, DB = 6cm and CD = 9cm. Calculate the length of AC.

CD=9cm

AD=10cm

for the above information we can say that D is a point on AC

therefore AC=AD+CD=9cm+10cm=19cm

now,

we know that ,

the perimeter of a triangle=sum of all the sides

therefore ,

AB+BC+AC=AB+BC+19cm.....1

now,

since the triangle is a right anged triangle.

therefore, AC=AB+BC

=>AB+BC=19cm....2

1=AB+BC+19cm=19cm+19cm(from 2)

=38cm
