  • SOLUTION:-

∆ABC is right angled triangle.

AD = 12, CD = 8

•°• AC = AD + CD = 12 + 8 = 20

•°• AC = 20.

By pythagoras theorem

AC² = AB² + BC²

(20)² = (4x)² + (3x)²

400 = 16x² + 9x²

400 = 25x²

x² = 400/25

x² = 16

x = 4

now,

AB = 4x = 4×4 = 16

BC = 3x = 3 × 4 = 12

Now,

BD is perpendicular AC

•°• By Geometric mean

BD² = AD × CD

BD² = 12 × 8 = 96

BD = 4√(6)

The value for AB is 16, BC = 12 and BD = 4√(6)
