therefore ∠C = 45° ------> ( remaining angle of a triangle )

Therefore triangle ABC is a 45°-45°-90° triangle

therefore by 45°-45°-90° triangle theorem ,

side opposite to 45° = 1/√2 * hypotenuse

                            AB = 1 / √2 * AC

                              5 = 1 / √2 * AC

                             5 * √2 = AC

Therefore AC = 5√2 cm
