In Δ ABC, angle BAC = 90 degree , seg AD ⊥ seg BC and B-D-C, BD = 3, DC = 12, then find AD.(pythagoras method)

Given,

∠BAC = 90°, BD = 3 cm, DC = 12 cm.

To Find,

AD = ?

Solution,

In ΔABC,

==> (AD)² = BD * DC

==> (AD)² = 3 * 12

==> (AD)² = 36

==> AD = √36

==> AD = 6 cm

Result,

The value of AD = 6 cm.
