In ∆ABC, if DE || BC and DE : BC = 5 : 8, then find the ratio of areas of trapezium BCED and ∆ABC.. PLEASE HELP ASAP

Ar(ADE) ~ Ar(ABC)

Therefore,

ar(ADE)=DE^2

ar(ABC) BC^2

= 25

NOW,

areas of trap.BCDE=Ar(ABC)-Ar(ADE)

=64-25=39

ratio of areas of trap.BCDE and ABC= 39:64
