Thus ar( ΔABC)=1/2*AB*BC

=8*6/2=24 cm²

Now as per figure let the altitude from B to Ac=x

Then ar( ΔABC)=1/2*x*AC=24 cm²..............(1)

Now in AC²=AB²+BC²=64+36=100

So AC=10

From(1)

1/2*x*10=24

x=48/10-4.8 cm
