In the absence of chlorophyll, photosynthesis will not occur on leaves. The plants produce starch through a process called photosynthesis with the help of water and carbon dioxide in the presence of Sunlight. This entire process happens in the chloroplasts, that contain a green colour pigment called chlorophyll.
