In act 1 scene 1 antonio is seemed to be melancholic. He seems to be upset but he does not know the reason why he is sad or worried. Salanio and salarino tries to reason with him about his worry but he just refuses to all the reasons. They say that may be Antonio is worried about his ships sailing in the seas or he had fallen in love. When bassanio, lorenzo and gratiano are seen entering into the scene, salanio and salarino leaves antonio alone by saying that his dearest friends have arrived so they should take the leave. And that's how bassanio and Antonio get indulged in their talk and leaves the Antonio's weary mood behind. The scene ends with Antonio's dialog that bassanio can raise money on Antonio's name.
