In Activity 13.7 (page: 230), how do we think the displacement of rod AB will be affected if (i) current in rod AB is increased: (ii) a stronger horse-shoe magnet is used: and (iii) length of the rod AB is increased?

Answer:

(i) force will be stronger and the rod would move more fast towards the magnet

(ii) stronger magnet would also result the same as in (i)

(iii) length of rod is also the same case

the formula of force produced is F=BIL.sin(the angle)
