  • In the above example, 8 and 6 are called addends and their result which we got after adding is called a sum.

  • These represent the terms which are combined or added together to get the  desired result.
  • These are always more than two
  • For example: The sum 9 and 5 will be 14. Here the digits 9 and 5 that are used for addition or sum both are addends.
  • For example: Solve 7 + 2 + 3
  • Thus, the result will be 12, however here all the three digits which are 7, 2 and 3 are addends.
