SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

We know that,

Perimeter of a square = 4 × side.

Putting the values in the above formula we get,

4 \times(3x - 5)  = 40

12x - 20 = 40

Adding 20 in both LHS and RHS

12x = 40 + 20

12x = 80

x =  \frac{60}{12}

x = 5

Hence, The value of x is 5.
