in adjoining figure ABCD is a trapezium ACB is a triangle and ABCD is a parallelogram .The area of a triangle ECB is 64 CM². EB is 8 cm and AE is 30 cm. Find the area of trapezium ABCD

210=1/2*6h

210=3h

210/3= h

70= h

therefore height of triangle is70 cm

area of trapezium = 1/2*sum of its parallel sides * distance between them

=1/2*(6+24+24)*70

=1/2*54*70

= 27*70

= 180 cm sq
