Urination of adults, as well as infants, is controlled by the neural circuit which is very complex and highly distributed as it involves pathways at many levels of the brain, spinal cord and the peripheral nervous system and is mediated by multiple neurotransmitters. But in infants, this neural circuit is not well-developed up to the age of 3-5 years. Therefore, in infants, urination occurs involuntarily
