in africa only a very small fraction of flora and fauna have been indentified yet what would be the reasons for this?​

Possible reasons:-

1] The continent Africa lies in the equatorial region and hence is supported by climatic condition favourable for rich wildlife and vegetation. Hence as a result a lot of varieties are present there which are not found anywhere else on earth. Therefore with every exploration a new variety is found.

2] The tribes in Africa hold a large proportion of the population and live in the forested area that provides shelter as well as a livelihood for them. Hence these tribes often intervene bio-scientists from research and exploration as the forests and other natural resources are said to be 'sacred' to them

3] Colonisation period has already drained a lot of precious known and unknown resources from this continent. As a result after independence, many countries abstain from declaring the flora and fauna resources fearing a diplomatic seizure of these resources by strong countries like the USA, China
