In America, acting is considered a profession. Whosoever has to become an
actor has to read books written on acting. These books tell the nuances of
acting and without reading these books one cannot be considered as an
actor. To judge the ability of an actor, an examination is conducted and
then a degree is assigned to the qualified persons who can then act in films.
There is also a statutory body which provides membership to all actors and
its compulsory to become a member of it. There is also rules and
regulations enforced by the statutory body to ensure self-discipline among
its members.

In some countries acting is not considered as a serious profession but just a hobby.

On the other hand In countries like America acting is taken very seriously.

People have to study books to gain knowledge,exams are taken and membership is given.There are many rules and regulations.

The various characteristics which are highlighted are as under:-

1) Talent - Only those people would get selected who are really talanted because the exams are tough.Its not easy to clear the acting exam just by reading them but you need to have talant.

2)Dedication - The selection procedure

is not easy.Sometimes you need to

try again and again.Only those candidates who are very dedicated to this profession would be able to consistently try and work till they get selected

3)Legal Profession - The procedure of selection of actors is absolutly legal therefore there are less chances of fraud.
