In ammonium chloride the interparticle attraction is low.

  • Due to low interparticle attraction when the ammonium chloride is sublime after heating, it will immediately transform into vapour. This vapour will furthermore condense at the upper colder portion of the funnel to form solid ammonium chloride. In this path, the combination of ammonium chloride and salt can be segregated by the sublimation method.
  • When ammonium chloride absorbs heat then solid particles are filled with energy and this energy is enough to halt its intermolecular forces. So intermolecular distance boosts and solids are renovated immediately into gases. This evolution from Solid to vapour is immediate.
