In an A.p, if d= -3, n=8 & An = 40 then value of A is ?

\huge{\bold{\underline{\underline{Solution:-}}}}

d = (-3)

n = 8

An = 40

A.T.Q.

An = a+(n-1)d

40 = a+(8-1)(-3)

40 = a + (7)(-3)

40 = a - 21

a = 40+21
