Suppose the three terms are :- a - d , a , a + d
Sum of three terms is 27
∴ a - d + a + a + d = 27
∴ 3a = 27
∴ a = 9
Now , given that sum of their squares is 293
∴ ( a - d )² + ( a )² + ( a + d )² = 293
∴ a² - 2ad + d² + a² + a² + 2ad + d² = 293
∴ 3a² + 2d² = 293
∴ 3(9)² + 2d² = 293
∴ 243 + 2d² = 293
∴ 2d² = 50
∴ d² = 25
∴ d = 5 or -5
Thus three numbers could be either 4 , 9 , 14 or 14 , 9 , 4 .
