In an alien land far away, half of 10 is 6. If the same proportion holds true, then what is 1/6th of 30 in this alien land?

It could be 6 if in this alien land:

half of 10 in the alien land is, for us: half of 10 then +1.

Doing this means 1/6th of 30=5 then + 1 =6

This is the answer the others got.

Another answer, however, is:

8 It could also be 8.

If their half of 10 is our half of 10 then + 10% of 10 in our world.

10/2=5

5+(10%*10)=6.

With this form, 1/6 of 30 is 5, 1/10 (10%) of 30 is 3 so the answer is 3+5 which is 8.
