In an alloy the ratio and copper and zinc is 5:3 by weight . Calculate the weight of cooper and zinc in 240 g of the alloy

Let the mass of copper and zinc be 5x and 3x respectively.

     A.T.Q,

              5x +3x =240

                 8x =240

                  x =240/8 =30

so,mass of copper =30*5 =150 gram.

and mass of zinc =3*30 =90 gram.
