Given:

=> a₇ = 4

=> d = ( - 4 )

To Find : The first term (a) of this AP.

Proof: 

= a₇ = a + 6d

= 4 = a + 6 ( -4 )

= 4 = a - 24    ( Transposing 24 to the other side )

= a = 4 + 24

=> a = 28

Hence the first term of the AP is 28.
