Answer:-

a = 28

Given:-

d = -4

 a_7 =  4

To find :-

The first term.

Solution :-

Let a be the first term.

Now,  a_7 = 4

\implies  4 = a + 6d

Put the value of d.

\implies  4 = a + 6 (-4)

\implies  4 = a -24

\implies  a = 4 +24

\implies  a = 28

hence, the value of first term is 28.
