mth term =a+(m-1)d=1/n ----(1)

nth term = a+(n-1)d=1/m------(2)

(2)-(1)

d(n-1-(m-1))=1/m-1/n

d(n-m)=(n-m)/mn

d=1/mn

a+(m-1)(1/mn)=1/n

a+1/n-1/mn=1/n

a=1/mn

mnth term = a+(mn-1)d

= 1/mn+(mn-1)1/mn

=1/mn+1-1/mn

=1

Hey there !!

▶ Question :-

If the mth term of an AP be 1/n and its nth term be 1/m then find the (mn)th term.

➡ Given :-

→ a  \tiny m \large = \frac{1}{n} .

→ a  \tiny n \large = \frac{1}{m} .

➡ To find :-

→ a  \tiny mn .

➡ Solution :-

▶ See the attachment.

✔✔ Hence, the (mn)th term of the given a AP is 1. ✅✅
