In arithmetic progression let the first term be a. Common difference = d.

The nth term of the progression tn = a + (n-1) d => t6 = a+ 5d.

a = 4 t3.

The fifth term of the arithmetic progression is -4.

The series is given as 8, 5, 2, -1, -4, -7.
