In an atom proton attracts electron. Similar function is done by electron. But if we remove electron from outermost shell size of atom decreases due to increase in proton-elctron attraction. But if we add electron to the same outermost shell why size of atom increase? But there should be electron-proton attraction and size of atom decrease. Why this is so?

First of all,you're wrong in your concept!
When an electron is removed from the outermost shell of an atom,size of the atom decreases due to greater number of protons than electrons resulting into greater effective nuclear charge which pulls the electrons towards itself.
Similarly,when an electron is added to the outermost shell of an atom,size of the atom increases due to greater number of electrons than protons resulting into lesser effective nuclear charge which repels the electrons.
