in an earth prone areas material for building a house should be lighter.

and also designing the house in such a way that it doesn't affect from earthquakes

▶ sedimentary rocks are formed because of the increaseing layer on stones

and hence it is not too much hard

Hence

it is used in construction of buildings and if earthquakes occurs then it is easy to construct building again.
