Lindeman's law states that during the transfer of energy in a food chain from one trophic level to the next ten percent of the energy obtained from organic matter is stored and other is lost in the transfer, indigestion, and respiration. Respiration is the process in which food is broken down by the organisms using energy. In a food chain, around one-half of the energy is lost through respiration at each trophic level. Hence it will be 60% - 30% - 20%. Thus the correct answer is option A.
