Step-by-step explanation:

One candidate's votes is 82%

Another. Candidate’s votes 100- 82 = 18 %

Let the total number of votes be ‘x'

First candidate's votes would be 82*x/100

Another candidate' s votes = 18x/100

The difference of votes = 576

82*x/100 - 18x/100 = 576

(82x-18x)/100 = 576

64x/100 = 576

64x= 576*100 ( multiplying both sides by 100)

x= 576*100/64 ( dividing both sides by 64)

x= 9*100

x= 900
