given the winning candidate secured 55% of the votes and won by 2554 votes

so the loser got 45% of the votes

let the total number of votes be x

then 55x/100-45x/100=2554

       10x/100=2554

       x=25540

the winning candidate got 55/100*25540 votes i.e;14047 votes
