Given:

In an election, Ashok,Mahesh and promod got altogether 150 votes.

To find:

How many votes did promod get?

Solution:

In an election, Ashok,Mahesh and promod got altogether 150 votes.

  • Ashok + Mahesh + Promod = 150 votes -------------A

according to the question

  • Ashok + Promod = 94 votes------(I)
  • Mahesh + Promod = 76 Votes ----------(II)

Adding the equation (I) and (II) we get

  • Ashok + Mahesh + 2Promod = 94 + 76 votes
  • Ashok + Mahesh + 2Promod = 170 votes------------B

Subtract the equation A from B we get

  • Promod = 150 - 170
  • Promod = 20 votes

Promod get 20 votes.
