Given that : 20% of the total votes(7500) are invalid.

Then, valid votes = 100-20 = 80%

Number of valid votes = 7500 × 80/100

Also given that : one candidate got 55% of valid votes then other got = 100-55 = 45%

Other got the votes :

7500 \times \frac{80}{100} \times \frac{45}{100} \\ \\ = > 2700

Then, number of votes that got the other candidate will be 2700
